A fantastic image of the Caped Crusader, taken from Alex Ross's exclusive UK version of the Shadows collection; this reminds you of Bruce Timm's Superman from 'Superman: The Animated Series' and is also a subtle nod to Dean Cain's muscular portrayal, from the 1990s TV show.
Broad, tank like in structure with a huge flexing triceps, this figure depicts brilliantly the indomitable nature of the world's favourite Superhero. Staring once more at the face and slicked hair, you notice a pleasing resemblance to the late great Christopher Reeve.
This is rather different from our Superman (fan favourite) based sculpture by Doug Hyde 'Is it a Bird? Is It a Plane?,' which you will agree, is the other end of the naive art spectrum!
Alex, this is a wonderful limited edition and my favourite from the recent quartet of new releases.
