As the two figures from the elder generation are still very much in love and enjoying each other's company, they embrace in a dance, a dance of passion nonetheless, the Tango!
I love the expressionist take on this piece, particularly if you look closely you can notice the cross hatching that takes place within the mark making to create the heavy weight of the fabric.
With a clear untouched background, the two characters confront us and allow us to only focus on them, with no other goings on in the pictorial space, other that the shadows or puddles created...
...on the floor beneath them.
I love this graphite/charcoal affect Millar adopts and it is a refreshing welcome for the series.
