In nature there are horses that are called 'wondering wild horses' and they never come into contact with people durig their life. It is so important for these sorts of horses to have a definite region, because to share a specific location and region of fertile pastures and water is the only reason for them to fight eachother.

In this painting the Artist wanted to reflect the moment when this kind of sharing has reached the point of turning into a fight.
