Born in 1969 in Staffordshire, Carl has studied figurative sculpture and later went onto Combining his traditional artistic ethics but managed to keep his work feeling fresh and contemporary. Artist Carl Payne creates masterful techniques when applied his popular sculptures.
Taking the time to create accuracy, heavy detailed 3D forms, shape, composition requires dedication passion and commitment to his craft and this is exactly what the artist puts into every single creation.
Carl is influenced by Charles Sargant Jagger, Rodin, Alfred Gilbert as well as, evidently from his creations, his love of music.
His first public commission was in 2000 and since then Carl has had huge successes with commissioned work such as King and Queen Mary for the ballroom of Cunard's Queen Mary II Cruise ship: 'Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross,' which was shown by Princess Anne. Voted Best Sporting statue in Europe, Sir Stanley Matthews at the Britannia Stadium shows the unique and technical brilliance of the artist who continues to thrive his successes today.
