One of two new releases for Autumn, the other being 'Batmoo' of course!
Following on from her 'We Can be Heroes' collection (Spring 2013), popular contemporary artist Caroline Shotton returns to the scene of one of her finest illustrative hours barely six months down the line with 'Spidermoo.'
Admittedly, Spidermoo may experience certain gravitational issues swinging from skyscrapers, yet when it comes to upholding the law, he'll definitely put the hoof in and stop villans in their tracks with that impressive physique.
But if that doesn't work, the whole concept of a cow masquerading as Spiderman may just send them crackers!
What's that swinging from those tall buildings? Why it's the mighty Superhero: half cow and half spider...it's Spidermoo!
Here we get a rare glimpse at the artistic thinking behind one of Caroline's original creations, as she carefully sketches to prepare for her latest full colour painting.
It's fascinating seeing the artists's 'behind the scenes' thought process and which sketch goes on to make the final cut that Caroline will use - recreating it with paints and acrylics onto canvas.
Spiderman continues to be an endless source of inspiration for British artists. Like a Marilyn Monroe or a James Dean portrait, it's almost a rite of passage for an artist to paint an iconic comic book Superhero at some point in their career.
