'Monkey' aka 'Monkey Magic' was a Japanese martial arts comedy adventure TV show that has gained cult status here in the UK.

Originally airing in Japan from 1978-1980 this was on repeat in the UK from the early 1980s and inspired many a child to get into martial arts, perhaps even more so than the great Bruce Lee!

Using a garden stick of bamboo as the hero's magic expanding wishing staff and a pillow as the cloud he is able to summon & fly on, lol!

The character 'Monkey' was played by Japanese actor, singer and martial artist Masaaki Sakai and was dubbed to English by the late English actor David Collings.
