Were All Mad Here, Im Mad, Youre Mad by Craig Davison

A reworking of the characters from 'Alice Through The Looking Glass,' artist Craig Davison takes his trademark style and places children in the foreground and their 'imagined' characters in the background - to wonderful effect.

I like this new release, standing out for its greater colour palette and a welcome change from his largely sepia limited editions. Clearly Craig enjoys working in a number of artistic styles and is comfortable with different colour mixes.

From Craig Davison's collection, celebrating the world of Lewis Carol & his wondrous characters - featured in 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' (1865), its sequel 'Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There' (1871), as well as the famous Disney film 'Alice In Wonderland' (1951)

I am pretty sure this gang have all just watched the 'Alice In Wonderland' Disney film on TV and after are all charged up to go and 'play' the characters...

...Oh dear it appears the girl in the middle doesn't look best amused (she appears as Alice in another limited edition release) and the boy on the chair seems to be taking a power nap!

At least he enjoyed his cheesy puff crisps though. Another wonderful take on childhood by artist Craig Davison.
