Darryn has painted these beautiful 'side on shots' of a leopard & a tiger with the limited editions 'The Wildside I & II,' proving once again his brilliance at recreating wondrously lifelike wildlife.
The black backgrounds bring an excellent contrast to the animal’s coats, almost like they have been lit in a studio but instead we are of course looking at Darryn’s mastery of painting light and shadow onto canvas.
The earlier matching background edition (black) was the best selling tiger: 'On The Prowl.'
For me the eyes are the most reflective part of the paintings, bringing an emotional depth to the lives of these mysterious & majestic big cats. As Darryn often highlights when discussing his art, we must continue to protect wild animals & their habitat around world.
