Beside The Seaside by Doug Hyde

There is something quintessentially British about the humble deck chair and Doug Hyde has 'nailed it' with his latest limited edition release: 'Beside The Seaside.'

Two of his human characters and the brown and white dog peer over the canvases, as though someone is taking a cheeky holiday snap of the some of the gang on holiday. Perhaps they have just parked up, unpacked and left the Citroen 2CV from the 'Love Overload - Sculpture' just outside of the picture?

If you notice it is a simple image, with straight lines made for: the end of the beach, where the sea starts and the horizon and so your eye is immediately drawn the various coloured stripes of the deck chair, or the simple facial expressions of two happy faces and an inquisitive dog!

I love the chairs themselves and the subtle colour tones of the wood Doug has painted. One thing is for sure, it doesn’t have to be summer for you to enjoy this beautiful new limited edition.

I mean...come on, which British person doesn't enjoy sitting by the seaside, feet up, with an ice-cream and on a deck chair; its every Brits dream to sit in the freezing cold at a local beach and pretend it's hot and sunny like the Mediterranean! I know it was mine lol.
