Country Dancing by Doug Hyde

A hedgehog and a mouse show us how happy they are in their mutual friendship, in this latest Doug Hyde print release; a simple image of our two heroes tap dancing in a puddle, somewhere in the British countryside!

A heart warming painting, reminding us of childhood bedtime stories of talking animals and far off adventures, this almost appears to be the next scene directly following the pair reuniting with each other in the limited edition: 'Boot Camp' (2014).

This is one of four prints and two sculptures making up Doug's 2014 'Rural Return' collection, each image having 'charcoals' as the main colours.

I had no idea two farmyard characters could dance so eloquently in this fun new release sculpture.

The second sculpture from Doug's 'Rural Return' Collection, (the other being 'The Ramblers - Sculpture' 2014) and this series was all about the fun adventures of the best friend hedgehog and field mouse duo.

This time our intrepid heroes take a moment from their nocturnal adventures and dance under the moonlight.

People really took to this image, with the hand painted hedgehog spikes and highly polished finish of the mouse’s white coat and set off on a beautiful cloudy coloured circular floor - itself set onto a black plinth, very nicely done Doug!

It's the simplicity of Doug's imagery that wins the day and the hearts of all of us fans.
