Last year's fast selling 'timed' release was 'Zoom Party' (2021), Doug's final limited edition released during the lockdowns.

This New release was dubbed the ‘Doug Hyde "Garden Party" Jubilee Timed Release' in the email marketing.

A special 'timed' release to mark the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, her 70th anniversary of becoming monarch. Galleries were allowed to order & pre-sell to customers for a set period of time, and then the edition number would be finalised and reflect the number pre-ordered.

I remember the short period customers nominated to pre-buy was 12 noon on Monday 23rd May - 12 midnight on Monday 30th May, and the final number pre-sold was a whooping 404 copies! - massive considering no one had physically seen one on a gallery wall!

Up and down the country people were encouraged to have Tea Parties in their garden or in the street, to mark the Queen’s celebration and here Doug paint's his rendition. Trifle, Victoria Sponge, biscuits and cupcakes are the order of the day and some fizzy pop in paper cups!

The doggy heroes are here with 'Monty The Black Dog' with paws on table waiting for tea and 'Fuzz The Dog' (brown & white) dancing on the table waving a mini Union Jack Flag!

They are hilariously ably joined by a Corgi sitting on a smart red velvet & gold chair (throne?) and wearing a crown! The Union Jack tablecloth and hats is a lovely touch, reminiscent of those handed out at weddings or other celebrations.
