High On Love by Doug Hyde

This fantastic contemporary sculpture shows Doug's representation of being in love. The artist recreates in tangible object form how we experience rushes of emotion, deep feelings and pleasurable senses when we are in this blissful union.

The sculpture is simple and yet brilliant in Doug Hyde's artistic devising.

Symbolically he creates a giant heart in which the human character climbs to the top and then rests in the middle of a classic 'storybook' heart shape - showing momentary rest between blissful peaks of emotion.

A wonderful new sculpture release, neat looking and compact, plus the follow up to the best-selling limited edition print of the same name.

This was from an era when all Hyde sculpture came on beautiful, thick black bases that really 'lifted' the piece.

A follow up limited edition was released a decade later and called 'Lots Of Love.'

Looking back at this past limited edition release from Doug (circa 2005), this was a very popular print and established for galleries just how sought after any Doug Hyde artwork could be that featured hearts!

In this limited edition two human characters, one dressed in blue and one pink (representing of course male and female), have climbed up two distinctive Doug ladders and taken a rest 'high' above 'on' their 'love' for one another.

Safe from the worries of everyday life, Doug Hyde reminds us of the tremendous comfort we can draw from the close, loving relationships of our friends, family and our partners - add to that our cats and dogs too!

This was the updated version and comes inside a clear perspex box for wall mounting, the black framing/boxed was discontinued for the later editions released, as it was deemed to expensive to produce!

Another classic Doug Hyde title: 'High On Love' reimagined and brought to life in this wonderful new Objet d'art wall sculpture.

The two characters are resting on a giant heart as the journey to the top was long but the rewards are great!

Notice the ladders are recreated, following closely the design of the original painting and their accuracy is a nice finishing touch to the wall sculpture.
