This really reminds you of Doug's much older, highly collectable releases such as: 'Mr Smith' and 'Mr Hirst' where Doug draws your attention to the neck area of the image to see just a snippet of what the human character is wearing.

This maybe the first time we have seen a character in a blue and white striped clothing and I image him to be in some Victorian looking men’s bathing suit, much like the one Dick Van Dyke wears in the much loved film: 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,' as he frolics on the beach and entertains the children!

This is the famous 'Monty' the black dog, and as you can see Doug has painted him with some rather snazzy shades, the same one he is pictured wearing in 'Love Overload - Picture' and 'Love Overload - Sculpture’ (July 2019).
