As Hyde playfully combines two different species in order to create 'Tiger', it's owner looks more than content at the thought of having his little companion for company, holding the little feline close to his chest.
This is one of the earliest Hyde cat images not! to feature Jess the black and white cat and reminds me of the more recent bestselling limited edition 'Together Again' (2018) - although there is no doubt our feline friend is a Ginger Tom cat there!
Taken from Doug's first ever series called the Doug Hyde Experience - Collection from 2004 and a collection that would launch the artist into public awareness for the first time.
Incidentally Tigers are one of the most popular Big Cats for any artist to paint.
With a simplistic backdrop made up of wonderful pale blue and grey tones, Hyde shows us the method of blending his pastels so that the characters and foreground really stand out!
This tiger striped cat is a fun new addition to the Hyde feline range and those that buy his cat art always ask me: 'When is Doug releasing more?'
