The sister piece (or should we say little brother, as its blue!) to 'Love You Forever' (2019) which was the larger remarque edition (RRP £1495.00 framed) that came out at the same time within the Doug Hyde - Summer Of Love Collection (2019) and sold out within days!
Both limited editions display two of Doug's human characters holding Love Heart sweets and have proved to be best sellers amongst fans - even those without sweet tooths lol.

Doug seemed to have steered away from overly featuring sweets in his paintings and had tended to settle for: cats & dogs, embraces, presents and hearts!
Having said that it does remind us of 'Life Is Sweet' and 'Pick Me!' - both from 2018 and featuring lots of sweets (or candy as our American cousins call them!)

Taking two of Doug's characters dressing in purple and pink, they hold a giant 'Love Heart' sweet ('candy' if you from the USA!) up to face the camera, in a beautiful recognition of the love they have for one another.
The colours of the print blend perfectly, almost like a kaleidoscope you are drawn to the bluish background, the purple and pink clothes and then into the golden yellow of the sweety itself and finally the red of the heart shape and 'In Love' Words - effortless admiration of a stunning message.
Doug is without doubt the master of this kind of naive art and he is able to tap into your childlike innocence, the one that has never left you.
This piece comes in the Hyde chunky black, as some people have this preference in framing.
