Ocean Mirror by Duncan MacGregor

The gorgeous night sky immediately catches the eye when looking at this canvas and Duncan brilliantly paints the moonlight, shining through the cloud cover and its reflection in the cool water below - hence we have the title 'Ocean Mirror.' MacGregor applies the acrylics densely to create wonderful rich layers of bluey/white, in an attempt to capture natural light and show how it dissipates on the water and the evening sky. Using pure white and other coloured paints, Duncan is able to draw your attention to the other objects in the canvas such as: the lighthouse, the boats and the houses - finished off with lovely touches of red paint.
