All six limited editions that comprise his debut releases are here: 'Epi - New Collection - A Penguin Special'
These are beautiful coloured limited edition prints taken from Epi’s original paintings, with vibrant colours and lush finishes. Every print also has ‘hand torn’ edges, to give each a unique deckled effect, before being placed on a crisp white background & lovingly framed.
Large and impressive signed artworks for your home or office, but which is your favourite colour?
As you may know, Epi is a master of both modern art tropes and irreverence, and ‘Dial M' (For Moron) is seemingly a nod to those frustrating (perhaps stupid) people we encounter in our day to day lives.
Delving deeper in Epi’s artistic thought process, these prints are actually a tongue-in-check reference to current art trends, such as The Connor Brothers work. Some critics say they endlessly paint & regurgitate such book covers, as well as recreating a false sense of nostalgia in the viewer, while seemingly being marketed as high end ‘blue chip’ art.
Two further ironies spring to mind. Firstly, the screenplay ‘Dial M For Murder’ by Frederick Knott (later adapted by Hitchcock into the 1954 classic film) was never released by Penguin Books and secondly Epi has created wonderfully attractive art at the very same time…bravo!
