English Rose is actually a model Fabian 'discovered' in 2014 on one his annual gallery tours, and you may be surprised to learn she was actually named Sally & a Gallery manager at one his appearances in North Hertfordshire, UK.
The limited editions that make up the English Rose collection (and include several editions with 'Sally' in the title) reference her pale skin and blonde hair which Fabian realised was very different to his usual muses of South American descent.
In his own words:
'I have recently been inspired to paint a series of works around a woman I met in England who had a particular kind of European beauty, which is different from the darker, more sultry looks of my compatriots.'
In surreal & delightful experience for Sally she was flown over to LA to model for the artist and was made to feel very welcome by Fabian, his family and his celebrity friends.
Sally said at the time:
'I really didn’t know how he would portray me on canvas and I am over the moon with the results.'
