Perez often depicts somewhat shady looking characters, which certainly have a story to tell and most probably, knowing Perez's childhood, these depictions represent the wrong side of the law. With this being said the artist paints all of his subjects in the most sophisticated and eloquent manner so from the outside at a first glance they do not appear to be somewhat unethical .
Leaning to one side and a cigarette held firmly between his fingers, Marcus is perhaps taking his time to conjure up a plan, or he may in fact be waiting for someone to arrive, either way the troubled figure is deep in thought and from his body language he is a character in which we would not wish to get on the wrong side of. This is a brilliant piece to kick start his new releases and allows for a dramatic scene to be displayed before us, not only in subject matter but with the use of theatrical lighting, which makes for an excellent Limited Edition Canvas.
