San Telmo is of course in Fabian's birthplace of Buenos Aires, an old colonial city with much of the historic architecture well maintained and giving artists evocative backdrops to paint.
Sally was discovered by Fabian at one of his own artist appearances, working in a British Gallery, she was flown out to Los Angeles to be painted in his studio (whether she also went to Argentina with him and his family is also possible!).
Read more about her here under the first picture of Fabian's limited edition: ‘English Rose.'
In ‘Sally In San Telmo II’ she overlooks the balcony of an apartment in San Telmo and Fabian would go on to paint many scenes featuring the young lady; apart from being an attractive woman, this is one of the few natural blonde women that have modelled for the artist.
