Fabian decided to recreate his famous self-portrait scene, but this time with the model ‘Lucy’ sitting on the grey steps and in front of the green door. In a black cocktail dress, shoes and handbag to her left, she perhaps awaits her lover's return and we are left to ‘fill out’ the rest of the story.
Her face is beautiful and her gaze happy and inquisitive, and Fabian once again masters’ the colour palette and light reflection here, with her tanned skin tone being a highlight for me.
Her lips are a luscious red and the steps dazzle with reflected sunlight, we imagine the scene about to unfold with someone’s arrival…
