Coming from a theatrical background, Blakely shows interest in his subject's compositions, taking particular care and detailed portrayal of women's backs, spines and necks.
Although the woman is the focal point for the image, the chair is particularly important, as the way in which the figure is positioned on the chair allows us to see the complexity and intricacy of each brush stroke assumed.
Again the fabrics make a direct connection with Blakely's series of works and this, needless to say is a fantastic connection in keeping with his series!
