Mark Sloper known as 'illuminati Neon,' is a London based artist influenced and immersed in UK Punk history: its music, culture, attitude and what it culturally represented.
He likes to acquire vintage clothes, flags & old material and then brings his Neon lights to give them new life and artistic meaning. Unsurprisingly, His exhibitions have several of his slogan's displayed including: ‘Illuminati Is The Light In The Darkness’ & ‘Life is strange, embrace it.’
The artist was distributed by Castle Galleries in the UK, but has now signed to Buckingham Fine Art publishers for 2023, opening his artwork up to a plethora of New gallery wall space, in what will be an exciting time for his profile.
The ‘illuminati’ originally referred to a secret society (the ‘Bavarian Illuminati’) established in the age of Enlightenment in 18th Century Bavaria (now Germany); if you delve further. its goal where to oppose religious influences in daily life, superstition and abuses of government power, perhaps given us a window into Mark’s own motivations.
The ‘neon’ of course represents his including of lights within each of original pieces, and all are hand blown in the artist own West London studio.
Neon is collected by the likes of Boy George, Elton John & actor Idris Elba & moves in these celebrity circles!
