Study Of The Laughing Cowvalier by Caroline Shotton

Following on from her extremely popular earlier series titled 'The Moosters', Caroline Shotton has once again drawn upon four of the most famous and instantly recognisable paintings known to man.

However, the obvious tweaks made is the replacing of the Mona Lisa, the Girl with the Pearl Earring, the screaming impressionist figure, and in this case the laughing Cavalier with her much-loved dough eyed cows; creating her very own modern day Moosterpieces.

This prim and proper cow is the lead figure in this takeoff of 'The Laughing Cavalier' by Frans Hals (1582 - 1666) & this gets the Caroline Shotton comical treatment!

Here's some trivia for you, did you know the piece's title was actually unknown? and the Victorian public press actually invented it, add to that the dashing cow or cavalier! in question is not really laughing, it's just that his milktache, I mean moustache, was upturned at either end, indicating he was happy!
