A rainy, fog filled day in New York, sets the background to this latest piece by artist Jeff Rowland. A couple (and I assume the man is the taxi driver) have driven to the harbour side and get out the car to admire the view and grab a quick embrace in the pouring rain - precious moments away from it all. The lamplight is present here and this is an artistic prop that many artists like to use in scenes of romance and embrace, as Jeff does here and this reminds me of Paul Horton - the naive artist - who has used the lamplight in several of his 'romantic' limited edition over the years, 'Falling For You' comes to mind. The couple hug and gaze into the harbour, perhaps contemplating their future together and dreams of travelling to some far off land and starting a new life together, how very exciting!
