Born in South Wales in 1969, Sanders showed promise as a young artist, studying at St Martin's School of Art and then onto becoming a first class Honours graduate from The University of West Country.
The subjects and influences Sanders uses are from his travels and memories from Cuba and his bright vibrant scenes immediately take the viewer to the bright streets of Cuba and to the life the artist had once experienced.
His successes have awarded him with a Princes Youth Business Trust Gold Medal as well as finding recognition on television with programs such as Sugar Rush, and Between the sheet. His work has also transcended into the fashion world and his paintings have featured for the brand Fat Face. Brands such as Saga Rugby, Natwest, Queen Victoria Cruise Liners have also commissioned Sanders for his creative artistic visionaries. The Prince of Wales has personally acknowledged the artist's work and the great influential mentoring he has impacted on the Princes Trust.
The artist is also influenced by artists such as Edward Hopper, particularly his 1940's landscapes. His favoured medium is oil paints as he appreciates the way in which he is able to represent reflective light. The artist forms his own implements to apply the paint and this can be seen in the form of creating his own tools with credit cards to replicate certain qualities of a palette knife.
