The first addition to JJ's ongoing Rule Britannia - Series for 2021, usually depicting famous London landmarks and interpreted with modern art vibes.
An interesting painting providing quotes with transparent (as well as covert) artistic commentary on modern society.
I find it clever that this latest JJ painting 'Sotheby's' is created in one of the window displays, as well as many other artist references, including Banksy's little girl (as wall graffiti) & red balloon and Andy Warhol peering out from a smashed upstairs window!
The comment under the Sotheby’s canopy: 'It Is Not Cheap,' is very droll.
Some of the inspirational quotes are, left to right:
'When It Comes To Art It Is Important Not To Hide The Madness' (by pseudonymous Instagram poet Atticus)
'Art Is Not What You See But What You Make Others See – Degas' (by French artist Edgar Degas)
'The Job Of An Artist Is To Offer A Sanctuary Of Beauty To An Ugly World' (by American author Jeff Goins)
'Art Is A Lie That Makes Us Realise The Truth - Picasso'
'I Dream My Painting And Then I Paint My Dream - Van Gogh'
'Art Heals Both The Creator And The Viewer' (by photographer Prakash Ghai)
