JJ Adams pokes fun once again at consumerism with an eye-catching and innovative artwork.
Taking authentic Harrod's shopping bags, in this case 25 of them, he super imposes a praying woman and a re-working of the Lord's Prayer in Harrod's gold font. They are then placed onto a white background and framed in black for a fresh looking artwork.
I don’t think JJ is out to offend or blaspheme here, and it is interesting seeing the famous Harrod’s green bag hand-embellished with writing and design; it certainly challenges you to think about the consumerist maelstrom that is seemingly all around us!
Taking it at face value, this is an interesting piece of artwork that will be a talking point for any room.
