Yet another JJ Adams homage to the greatest fictional British spy of all time, James Bond and this is a rather clever looking take on one of 007's famous cars, the white submergible white Lotus Esprit.
At first glance it looks like JJ has modelled it on a diecast toy box that must have come out at the time of the film; can you remember which Bond and which film? Well done! it was Roger Moore and 'The Spy Who Loved Me.' (1977)
JJ shows some whimsy here as he has added a rather mean looking cartoonish shark to the scene as we try and recall if there was one in the film? To further play with our senses, he writes very faintly in silver: 'Do Not Tap The Glass,' as your mind begins to question if James Bond ever drove into a car take during the film!
These are of course, all enjoyable distractions as you are actually looking at beautifully painted scene and a master artist at work; it takes a very skilled hand to paint underwater scenes and JJ has done a spectacular job, with the beautiful blue hues that permeate the scene.
I love how the sunlight breaks through the water on the left giving the landscape an otherworldly, ethereal feel.
