After graduating in 1973, John embarked on a career in advertising. Working as director of art and illustrated books designed for the European market. It was during this time that he became increasingly inspired by Spanish and French post-Impressionist painters. John has had numerous group and one man exhibitions both in the UK and abroad. He has earned an enviable reputation for his dazzling Provencal landscapes, scenes of coffee, hill towns and harbour thoughts. He deliberately exaggerating the strong sunlight and deep shadows in their studies to evoke the warmth of the Mediterranean. Bright orange, yellow and green lights compete with purple dyed purple, blue and brown at its cake and works with a twinkle even larger Juan de oil paintings.
Although John's impressionistic style and use of colour is a great joy the issue is nothing if not stated again! Her works have been well received in the market with great enthusiasm.
The huge demand for its pastel and oils of origin has resulted in an extensive program of publications of his magnificent limited edition prints and original dazzling silk screens. It has also been recognized by the industry; He was nominated for Best Up and Coming Artist in 1999 and 2000 by the Fine Art Trade Guild.
"I aim to give my paintings a very special warmth, to remind you of places; my work is also concerned with abstract concepts, implemented by rich colours and textures."
