Keith Proctor's direct inspiration for this composition was his son Jack. Not because Jack has spent a lot of time on the naughty step, but because he made his bear Ted sit there on one of his particularly naughty days.
Proctor's charming pieces are about capturing the innocence and humour of children, which he portrays fantastically through this image. However, poor Ted didn't find it too humorous after having sat there for a whole hour.
