'Enchanted Forest' is full of texture, with the fairies and leaves that surround the main tree trunk raised in comparison to the main canvas for a '3D' effect.

Darlington creates the raised surfaces by using gesso, a primer that is used in a similar way to paint but when dries, it creates a hard plastic-looking glaze.
