This is a real step forward for the artist's vision in this particular collection, as I'm sure you will agree! The colours dance out of the pictorial space and an energetic burst of colour is at the forefront of this painting.
The feathers of the peacock are simplistic in their approach, with a single black line structured around the plane; this certainly compliments the busy rush of colour that is laced within the sparser black lines, creating an ambience of carnival.
Darlington's work always creates excitement and energy and this piece is a fantastic display of her creative imagination and is definitely a stand out in this series of work.
