Kerry Darlington gives us an above and below view of the earth's surface. Above, we are able to see a village depicted by several buildings punctuated by spindly looking trees; all of which are painted in a brownish tone.
The skyline is washed in warm, earthy reds, oranges and yellows, as is the ground and roots below the earth's surface.
The below ground level shown gets darker in colour the deeper the soil gets; therefore yellows appear nearer to the earth's exterior, working through a spectrum of oranges and reds, and eventually delving into deep browns and shimmering golds.
