As Darlington sets the scene of a village before us, the way in which she has painted the pictorial space is stunning.
There is an evident build up of layers which are laced with texture and vibrancy. The purples and reds work particularly well and are broken down with a turquoise under layer.
The village seeps through the wonderful painted textures and really allows us to take a closer look into the painting to see its true content. There is much to be discovered within this particular work and this it comes already frames, waiting to be hanged.
