This stunning visual comes framed and is an original for the artist Darlington. The colour choice is fantastic, allowing the bold blackness of the tree trunk and its branches to really stand out against the cream backdrop.
The artist doesn't allow the fundamental assets of the tree to become lost with the vibrant, energetic objects which act as the leaves for the tree.
Darlington's tree collection has proved to be a huge success among her admirers and this certainly makes for a unique and innovative work of art.
With the tree consisting of objects such as a gingerbread man and a clock, Darlington portrays her tranquillity and this is certainly highlighted by the neutral cream based background, which emphasises the tree.
Darlington's trees are a popular sought after theme among Darlington collectors.
Another beautiful work of art produced by Darlington! As you may have noticed her work is laced with a build up of texture using a form of acrylic resin known as gesso.
This allows the process of her work to really be at the forefront of her paintings and displays the equal measure of care to subject matter as is the care of detail applied to actually making the work.
Once dry this then looks like hard plastic mouldings and really allows the objects on the tree to stand out, acting as the leaves for the piece. This is a really clever way of creating and the though process behind the work has been really worked on to create a beautiful work of art.
This is an original contemporary landscape piece by independent artist, Kerry Darlington.
An abstract piece that has been uniquely formed upon board using acrylic gesso to create texture. Gesso is a medium that doesn't crack once dry, so can be applied in thin layers.
It is a medium that allows Darlington to build and build on the fantastic colours of this piece through the process of layering.
This highly textured piece is another beautiful and bold original by Kerry Darlington. Darlington creates her texture by layering and re-layering a form of acrylic resin known as gesso.
Like most acrylics, gesso are painted on in liquid form; however they dry to look like hard plastic mouldings that have been placed onto the large black tree silhouette that dominates the background of this piece.
For instance, the bird, butterfly, and various other objects that are dressing this tree in the way that leaves do, are all raised, and the entire piece is finished with a glaze.
As autumn falls and the seasons change, Darlington allows her depictions of her trees to shift in style too.
You can immediately notice the warm maple leaves which are coated in rich red textures and look ready to fall to the ground. This is reflected in on the ground too, with each area occupied by the inviting tones.
With butterflies, gingerbread men and a clock dancing around the space this is almost dreamlike and certainly quirky in its nature, making this a really special and unique image to own.
The abstract tree features several objects of quirky and curious nature. For example, you can see buttons, a clock; butterfly or heart shaped leaves as well as round balls of colour that have an almost marble effect.
As the objects float seamlessly, connected to the branches the sense of spatial relation between the subjects allow for the neutral background to emerge and become just as much as the subject matter as the actual contemporary tree.
The blend of wonderful colours can also be seen from the warm orange and red tones which situate themselves at the bottom of the picture. This original comes framed and is certain to bright up even the darkest of rooms.
As the maple leaves scatter around the branch, they are surrounded by beautiful strange and exciting objects, each project a radiance of colour.
On taking a closer look, you can see the fluidity in the artist's style of painting, for example notice the way in which bold strokes of the trees branch are formed in a smooth and swift motion.
This shows confidence in ability and certainly a well thought out process. An excellent addition to the series.
Featuring a collection of small shapes and colours, not to mention the beautifully painted bird which is perched on the branch, Darlington adds to her tree collection and includes a warm and bright background of yellow to really make the picture come to life.
The layers of background and variations in tone can be seen and this is something in which you would have noticed is a central part to Darlington's way of creating.
The subject and nature of the image means that its concept can transpire across all ages as it has been naively depicted. This is definitely a fitting piece to her tree collection.
The tree features a selection of maple leaves with the combination of curious objects.
The wonderful patterns and colours which situate themselves around the branches of the trees are intricately painted and portray a build up of layer and texture created with the process of painting.
The image has been lovingly created, yet there is a youthful and playful element which occupies the picture and this is something that can be appreciated across all ages.
The iconic imagery that Kerry Darlington has become known for, the 'Tree Of Tranquility' original series (follow up to the 'Tree Of Life') this is an original painting.
Notice the hypnotic orange and purple colours that make up the base? perfectly complemented by the yellow that makes up the main leaves & the blues on the various hand made objects that embellish the piece: the butterfly, birds, buttons & jewels, wondrous.
Kerry will not be producing this series again for the forseable future, so this is now highly sort after and her originals have now risen considerably in price (post this piece) - while this retains a lower price. This will make a delightful edition for old and new collectors of her work.
Another original from the 'Tree Of Tranquility' series of originals that Kerry painted for many years & will no longer be doing, so we are told!
Sold in galleries across the land its easy to see why these have become iconic. The base has a lovely colour to it, don't you think? the cream really sets the tone for the rest of the piece.
The base colour complements the ivory background the tree is painted on and allows the yellow leaves and all the wonderful hand embellished pieces to jump out at you! from the painting. Did you notice all the pieces? see if you can see the clock, the button and the cupcake!
The reason originals of this nature sell so well, I believe, is the neutral colour of the base - cream. (with a cream/beige background.) Despite having so many hand embellished pieces on the original, it is these neutral colours that allow you to see the piece hanging in almost any room of your house.
Take advantage as this is the last of such originals, at this price, available through My Perfect Art Gallery.
