When you read the title: ‘He Ain't Heavy...He's My Brother’ I am sure you think of the hit ballad song! The song was written by Bobby Scott & Bob Russell and made famous by the Hollies in 1969 (reaching No.3 in the UK) & also released by Neil Diamond the following year!
The song regained success from a TV beer advert for Miller lite and was reissued in 1988, this time reaching No.1 in the charts & a whole new generation of Hollies fans.
Leigh Lambert has used song titles again, and the limited edition ‘We Gotta Get Out Of This Space’ (2021) springs to mind, of course is a song by The Animals in 1965.
A boy piggy backs his younger brother home just in time before dad comes home from work, going slightly up hill through a back street; with the yellow inviting lights on indoors, no doubt mum has cooked a nice tea that’s just about to be served!
Leigh reminds us of all the happy times we had with siblings in childhood, endless evenings, adventures and football knock abouts!
