One At A Time by Leigh Lambert

A 'Magnificent Seven' of children are excited at the arrival of the much loved Ice Cream Van, as the football and the bicycle are put down and the kids get busy placing their orders!

This is continuation of the much loved 'Leigh Lambert - Ice Cream Van - Collection,' with sell out after sell out of these collectable limited editions.

Earlier this year, we saw the release of the full-colour version of this print 'One At A Time' (February 2020), so it is nice to see the sketch that Leigh drew and his thinking behind the larger painting; sketches & full colour paintings are slightly different of course & the sketch would normally be created first.

'Super Whip!' is the name of this van and Leigh has sketched, with gorgeous light green and golden hues and who doesn’t want to grab that 99 Flake cone with the raspberry sauce, seen on two panels of the van...yummy!

The last appearance of the 'Lambert Ice Cream' van was 'Spring Into Action' (2019) and this is of course Leigh's welcome latest release 'One At A Time.'

'I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice-Cream!' wasn't that how the phrase went?

In another eye catching Leigh Lambert release, we have the children overjoyed to see the Ice Cream Van pull up on the back streets and illuminating the grey monochrome brickwork and houses.

Reminiscent of the amazing 'Doug Hyde's - Summer Time' limited edition print and sculpture, there is something wholesome and nostalgic about the beloved British Ice Cream Van.

Leigh manages to capture a certain something from the British past, perhaps it’s the age of the vehicles he is painting? or that the children prefer playing on the streets to their phones!
