Mackenzie has made a heart warming short poem penned to accompany the February 2023 new release 'Lighting The Way':

'Love shines bright and lights the way,
There is no such thing as darkness,
With you in my heart ❤️'

...which is a fantastic sentiment for this St Valentine's Day timed release.

Reminding you straight away of the yellow (heart-shaped) lanterns that appears in 2020's charity limited release 'A Light In The Storm.’ But looking closely, the yellow here is actually the reflection of the lantern the figures carries, as he pulls his enormous heart along with him!

The artist was inspired by a recent holiday & appearances in the US, and reflections from the magical Bayou Swamps in New Orleans which he visited.

He found the water so pure and so emotive that he picked up his pastels and began his latest painting as soon as he was back in the studio in the UK!

Mackenzie has hoped to capture the last rays of daylight, as the world gives in to dusk and then the peacefulness of night time comes in.

The cloaked figure (which is the artist always draws as himself) dressed in a hooded duffle coat and carrying a lantern to light the way along the still clear water, which reflects the perfect night sky and stars above.

However above all, he has his own (giant) heart with him, as Mackenzie reminds us love is all that we need to bring!
