His previous release 'Blossom,' came after his visits to Japan and here we have another artwork motivated by travel!

Mackenzie was inspired once again by his various trips to Southeastern USA & seeing the enchanting Louisiana Bayous (swamps). This amazing area is often referred to as 'Bayou Country' and is brimming with seafood, wildlife and Cajuns!

Conservation is also on the mind of Mackenzie, as the Mississippi River delta is being lost by about one American football field an hour, due to nature & man, so efforts must be made to preserve it.

‘My Gift To You’ is an incredible New image and slots nicely into his series showing people by the lake, this time it is the familiar hooded small character in a black duffle coat.

View this Larger Image and you can see the hooded figure in the distance, looking out to the water & large size heart in hand! I was told the character represents Mackenzie as a child and his present-day emotions.

Perhaps he is about to place his heart into the lake to join all the others bobbing out, putting his feelings into the world! I also love the new perspective, where we the viewer are looking back at the character, I think this is a first in Thorpe’s landscape paintings.
