The Fastest by Mackenzie Thorpe

Another new release created by Thorpe, this time in sculpture format for the ‘Tour De Yorkshire’ bike race that took place 2nd - 5th May 2019 - Mackenzie was the official artist.

Maybe you forgot how good the artist was at recreating the human form in action? and it instantly reminds us of the best-selling sculpture from his 2003 ‘Game Of Life’ football collection: ‘The Champion - Sculpture.’

How fascinating is the simplicity of the bike? Somehow this black over-simplistic outline of the racer bike ‘works’ and we accept it as a full representation.

The deep rich blue of the rider’s bodysuit is so pleasing to the eye, topped off with the beautiful rich red paint on his helmet.

The open mouthed pose underlines the intensity he brings to the power, running through his leg muscles, as his desire to win takes over.

Finished off on a stylish slim black plinth, this is a stunning addition to the Mackenzie Thorpe range and yet another iconic one for collectors, in his 30th celebratory year as a professional artist - where did the time go?
