There is something wholesome and reflective about imagery featuring record players and vinyl albums, probably because they remind us of simpler times and our youths.

Mark Grieve's two mini-figures sit on the arm of the player while listening to the song, they embrace & share the depth of their feelings for one another.

Mark has painted on ‘YOUR SONG’ as the track & this is of course Elton John’s love song of the same name; lyrics were by his long-term collaborator Bernie Taupin, released in 1970 on the self-titled 2nd album ‘Elton John.’

The words 'Your Song' also features on the New release 'Vinyl' from the same collection, all be it on the record label itself!

I also remember the reworked version sung by Ewan McGregor in the film Moulin Rouge (2001), which was actually rather good!

I like the nuisances here by the artist, with extra wording: 'PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE' & you can just make out ‘MGA Records LTD’...which is Mark Grieves Art of course lol!

We always seem to sell the naive artwork featuring LPs, perhaps due to the nostalgia factors of those that grew up with vinyl, and interestingly they continue to make a welcome come back in UK music sales!

Like records, CDs and other physical media, people like to touch, hold and study the physical pictures & sculptures we sell, as art remains a touchable, tangible medium.
