Mick Cawston (1959-2006) remains one of the UK's most celebrated and loved canine artists and was adapt at painting, dogs, wildlife and the human form with a variety of painting materials - he was excellent at pencil sketching as well as painting.
Originally born in Dagenham, Essex and had a colourful early life including the army and various careers.
Discovered in 1987 by Sally from Sally Mitchell Fine Arts, Mick went on to become one of the UK's moist celebrated country life artists in a published carer that lasted just shy of two decades, after his ultimately passing in 2006.
Having personally met Mick, he was a humble man, shy and affable with the buying public as we had the pleasure of him in attendance at our exhibition stand at Crufts one year.
He would sketch people's dogs with his pencil and give the drawings away as free gifts, in the meantime we were trying to sell his framed artwork from the stand lol - bless him!
