The end of the year saw the launch of the Monica Vincent Winter 2019 - Releases, to much fanfare and spectacular sales around the UK - 9th December 2019
Monica Vincent is one of the brightest New stars in contemporary, cutting-edge, digital art here in the UK.
Born in the lovely seaside town of Brighton and now often staying or visiting Essex, Monica continues to draw great inspiration from her Bohemian hometown - which as well the culture of the University & seaside laissez-faire lifestyle, also has its own eclectic mix of artists.
Interestingly, she is entirely self-taught digital artist, also trained in 3D computer graphics and often using photography blended on the computer with her hand & the tablet - much like her contemporary artist Mark Davies.
I think one of Monica's strengths is the diversity in subject matter she is prepared to 'take on' from: Mickey Mouse, to Star Wars At-At Toys and even Balloon Dog Animals we are all familiar with, from children's parties. Her resulting art is both incredible and breath taking!
As a young mother, she remains as creative as possible when 'off duty' and that will involve the raw artwork of sketching and photography, then finally sitting by her computer and performing various digital tweaks and layering using cutting edge 3D software.
Monica draws much inspiration from the art of Tattoos and she often travels to national and international Tattoo fairs for both pleasure and artistic inspiration but equally she is in awe of 'regular' great works of arts, such English & European Old Masters.
Even a cursory view of her paintings reveals she is inspired by both Graffiti Art and its sister genre, Urban-Art - one can immediately see this perusing the bold colours of ‘Oh No....Stairs’ (2019) and ‘The Stag Do’ (2019); it is easy to think she was an accomplished street 'Tag' artist and handy with a spray can! much like artist JJ Adams but of course her final prints are created completely digital, barring any hand embellishment she places on her finished art
The artist has revealed that a good cup of Coffee is her secret weapon in the production process, fuelling many a long stretch on her computer! painting and re-mapping her artwork is a very involved process
Having a good measure of success in Brighton & creating a considerable customer base, she eventually signed with Wishbone Art Publishers in Essex in 2017 & began being promoted on the national level.
On the 16th January 2018 her first large scale collection was released with much aplomb from Wishbone, and glowing reviews from Galleries & their customers.
Monica has a presence on Instagram.
