Mr Kuu

Welcome to the mysterious world of the artist known as Mr. Kuu!

This year marks 10 years since his first national release to UK galleries, with January 2023’s New Collection of four limited edition prints marking his much anticipated return to being nationally published - such was the demand from his many fans and art buyers.

Mr Kuu specialises in depictions of very small people in various humorous and dreamlike situations, mixing fantasy with reality in thought provoking ways; he certainly views himself as a ‘people watcher’ seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary of our everyday lives.

The secret is of course macro photography (extreme close ups) of hand crafted recreations of people in imaginative versions of reality. However, he doesn’t stray too far away from his zany versions of the world, refusing to digitally manipulate any of his images and staying true to the artistic vision of his close-up lense!

Having a dad as a photographer, it was hardly surprising that he fell in love with the same pastime, using cameras from a young age and encouraged to let his imagination run wild with what, and how, he took photographs.

Part of the mystery of the art is that we know little facts about the real person behind the handle ‘Mr. Kuu’ but what we do know is that he is all about fun. He invites us to look and relook at every small detail and appreciate the story, humour and fun in what we as humans do every day! – never forgetting our humanity and our innate ability to do good in the world.
