Cocker The Woods by Nigel Hemming

If you're familiar with the works of Hemmings then you will be aware that he often paints dogs gazing playfully upwards as they keep their eyes on the birds which fly inches from them.

It is that exact moment in time that the expression on the dog's face changes from excited to a little frightened as the creature almost freezes, unsure of what its next move will be.
