Confession time!!! In 2009 we accidentally listed this item online as a limited edition print of a painting by Nigel's wife, Sue Hemming, whoops! and we have now relisted it correctly as an artwork 'by Nigel Hemming,' which it is.
I think the mix up is that Sue is an artist who published only cat art in the early 2000s and Nigel doesn't often publish outside of the dog art genre. Secondly: 'Peggerty' was actually Sue's own beloved cat and Nigel painted this piece as a tribute.
The feedback we receive has been amazing on this box canvas & we have to keep reminding customers this is Nigel's & not Sue's work when they purchase!
A wonderful piece of feline art in its own right, it has the added collectability of being what I think is Hemming's only signed limited edition print of a cat in circulation.
A fantastic and vibrant painting produced brilliantly onto box canvas format, you almost want to touch the cat's nose and stroke their soft hair, as the cats loving eyes look on at you.
It also effectively demonstrated Hemming's undoubted talent in capturing the essence of an animal.
This is a continuation of Nigel Hemming's contemporary range (started in 2008) where the focus is on the head or upper body only of the animal, with minimal if any background.
