City Boy by Paul Horton

One of three new releases for Autumn 2012 is 'City Boy' by artist Paul Horton.

When I saw this image I immediately thought of the famous 1980s computer game 'Paper Boy' - Paul perhaps this could be the title of the follow up painting? Please send royalties in the post!

I don't recall seeing the boy on the bicycle before & again this appears to another nod to the 1980s, as I think he on a Rayleigh chopper bike here? So I am thinking this is an new artistic character for Paul's art range.

We have in the background, the typical Paul Horton Northern housing estate town, grey non-de script rows of housing but there is something very warm and welcoming about them; no doubt friendly families live here, & would offer this young man a 'brew' if he came for a visit.

A lovable piece, that I think, sees the debut of the new Boy on a bicycle character, how exciting!
