A celebration of the moment Britain’s Mark Cavendish won the final stage of the 2012 Tour de France, a record fourth in row and this was of course at the Champs-Elysees. Sprinting past the back, Mark raises his fist in the air to celebrate!
This was the year Mark cycled for Team Sky & Paul Oz has created him in his famous Sky jersey, gloves, black cycling helmet and yellow rimmed sunglasses.
As of 2024 this is Paul's only cycling themed painting, so far!
Arguably Mark’s greatest cycling win was 2011 UCI Road World Championships. This was Great Britain’s first road race World Championship for over 45 years, the last being the late Tom Simpson’s win in 1965!
This took place on 25th September in Denmark and Mark famously won the race again by sprinting to the finish line.
Paul, will you be painting this sprint win as well? Fingers crossed!
