After graduating, freelanced as an artist and designer of the card, but in 1990 decided to devote full time to painting. In 2004 Peter's talent won him a place in the final of the DeMontfort New Artist Competition. His prize was a publishing contract, taking their status as professional artist to a whole new level.
Now based in North Devon Peter works in a studio attached to his home. He believes that living near the sea a great source of inspiration, and his peculiar character pieces often include some coastal references. It also cites a wide range of influences including jazz, in particular the extension of the life of stars like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Courtney Pine. Like them work is their virtuosity, deceptively simple, accessible and deliciously. In short, is described as a collector, "Sophisticated want!"
Painting in heavy body weight high acrylic on watercolor paper, his palette is characterized by soft brown mochas, creams and golds, while occasional splashes of red that the whole piece into focus. His work is in collections around the world.
